In this paper, combined forced and free convection is studied in a vertical duct with a uniform wall heating from a side. The term mixed convection is used to describe the process of heat transfer in fluids where, due to variations of gravitational body force associated within the system, the flow field is significantly modified from that which would prevail under conditions of uniform density.
