Abstract

OFDM is a digital multi-carrier transmission technique that distributes the digital encoded symbols over several sub-carrier frequencies in oreder to reduce the symbol clock rate to achieve robustness against long echoes in multi-path radio channel.OFDM is effective in mitigating intersymbol interference (ISI) due to excessive delay spread and intercarrier interference (ICI). In this study, Reed Solomon Codes are used for channel coding and pilot symbols for channel estimation. Simulation for Bit Error Rate (BER) perfomance is done in Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and Rayleigh multi-path channel.
