Abstract

In many organizations, absenteeism is a serious issue and it is an economically crippling factor. Some organizations still complains the problem, despite offering incentives for attendance.

This dissertation investigates the effect of incentives on absenteeism of school teachers based on both teachers point of view and their past attendance records. Through their feelings, which were collected through a survey, the study seeks to identify their personal opinion on the concept: relationship between incentives and attendance. It explains how the incentive affects to their attendance in the lights of some factors of teachers’ personnel life such as their income and savings. It may tell the readers the most effective type of incentives, based on teachers’ opinion, which could be implemented to reduce their absenteeism. Furthermore, the study tells the type of incentive programs being practiced in the organization in relation to the employees’ attendance.
