Abstract

Coastal pollution has become a critical issue. Pollutants such as wastewater effluents or industrial wates may be discharged into the sea via coastal areas, especially in coastal cities and towns. In this study, a review of coastal pollution and hydrodynamics across different regions shows that different coastal profiles, flow behaviour and types of pollutants will affect their dispersion rate, thus bringing different consequences.
