Abstract

Fracture of bone is common part of our daily life. There are few methods for fixing or reconstructing the fractured bone. One of the principle methods for the reconstruction of fractured bone is the drilling and fixing of the separate parts of the bones using screws, wires and plates. During bone drilling operations, heat is generated due to plastic deformation of the bone in the shear plane and the friction between the drill bit and chip as well as the generated surface of the drill hole.
