Abstract

Hydraulic fracturing is a techniques used to induce a fracture by injecting fluid into the formation. The injection pressure of the fluid is more than the formation fracture pressure which results in the induction of fracture. This technique is applicable for low permeability formation such as a tight gas reservoir. The purpose of this thesis is to report the desgining work of hydraulic fracture in the tight gas reservoir using modelling software called FRACPRO. This thesis also provides information such as challenges of producing from a tight gas reservoir, the methodology of modelling software, and the selection.
