Abstract

The main objective of this project is to model and simulate the performance of inclined Solar Chimney Power Plant Faces (SCPP) with underneath air vents to enhance air buoyancy and the power output of the plant. The sub-objectives include to determine the best underneath air vent area that will reduce thermal losses and enhance air mass flow rate. It also to determine the best shape of underneath air vent that will guide vent inlet air to enhance buoyancy. In this thesis report, a numerical model that represents the proposed design of the collector is to be generated and simulated. The numerical model was also developed using solid works and the flow thermal filed studied using ANSYS software.
