Matrix acidizing is one of the well stimulation techniques that used to remove formation damage around the wellbore region. By far, the most conventional acid usde in main acid stage matrix acidizing is the mixture of hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid (HF-HCI), also known as mud acid. As for the pre-flushh stage, generally 5-15% of hydrochloric acid is used. However, there are several weaknesses and problems associated with its use such as fast spending, material precipitate, low depth penetration, corrosion and others. The aim of this research effort is to develop new acid combinations that would replace hydrochloric acid. The new acid combinations should solve all the problems associated with the use of hydrochloric acid without altering the benefits it provides. Series of experiment with different combinations of acid will be conducted. The result will then be compared with the conventional hydrochloric acid in terms of the change in porosity, permeabiliti, solubility and mineralogy.
