The study on finite element analysis in turning of titanium alloys based on experimental design technique to determine cutting force an temperature distribution predictive models at the cutting zone
The alpha-beta titanium alloys such as Ti-6Al-4V have been widely used in aerospace and medical applications and the demand is ever-growing due to its outstanding properties. In this report, the finite element modelling on machinability of Ti-6Al-4V via turning process using cubic boron nitride and polycrystalline diamond tool under dry cutting environment was investigated. This research was carried out to generate mathematical models at 95% confidence level for cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut.
