Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study on the application of stoneley wave in prediction of permeability. Stoneley wave is a type of boundary wave that conventionally travels through solid-solid interface. The first phase of the research involves research of all the applications that utilized in oil and gas industry to predict the permeability. The procedures, advantageous, and disadvantageous of each applications researched is classified. The final phase involves the calculation of the permeability using the method researched in first phase with the available real field data provided. By calculating the permeability, we will make comparison of the various applications. This will allow clearer consideration of application of Stoneley wave in predicting permeability.
