Title
Real Time control of Wi-Fi surveillance robot
This thesis describes the design of Wi-Fi surveillance robot. This surveillance robot can be navigated remotely by the user to monitor the surroundings. In order to improve the mobility, the robot is powered by Lead Acid Battery and uses the IEEE 801.11 b/g wireless technology. The transceiver used in this design was a Wi-Fi router (Linksys WRT54GL). It is compared with other wireless technologies, which were relatively lower cost, wider range and higher throughput. The microcontroller (Arduino Duemilanove) which has an Embedded Web Server is used to interpret the command from the user. Then a user can control the surveillance Robot through web browser or though a User Control Application in the same Wi-Fi network.
