Abstract

Optimisation is done to maximise the product/result of any operation or system. Reservoir Engineers face a peculiar challenge when it comes to opstimisation of Gas Condensate Reservoirs. Due to retrograde condensation, certain percentage of gas (paticularly heavier components) condenses into liquid called condensate, when the reservoir is undergoing depletion. This hampers the production and well deliverability. To deal with this loss of reservoir/well performance, various operations such as gas cycling or gas injection is done to minimise the condensate formation by the pressure maintenance or the composition maintenance. For this the compositional analysis is important as composition of gas in the reservoir dictates the amount of condensation. It also dictates the type of gas to be injected.
