Abstract

The manufacture of offshore containers must adhere to the DNV 2.7-1 Certification Standard in order to ensure offshore safety during its operation. During the manufacture of an offshore container, the main assembling activity performed is the welding of the individual parts to form the offshore container. This is mainly done by the use of arc welding. Arc welding has been the main method to join similar and dissimilar metals in the engineering industry due to the efficiency and good mechanical properties prosessed by the joints produced.
