Network instrusion detection and prevention system have emerged as one of the most effective ways of providing security to those connected to the network and at the heart of almost every modern intrusion systems is a string algorithm. The design and implementation of such network instrution detection, with parallel finite state machine to reduce logic gates cost and increase throughput of the system will be discussed in this paper.
