Title
Electro-osmotic consilidation of organic and inorganic soils of North Sarawak
The soft soil deposits of Malaysia are of different kinds. Inorganic alluvial and marine clay, organic soils, and peat deposits are found. Besides that, peat covers 13% of the Sarawak state with 16500km, of which about 90% is more than 1 metre in depth (Huat el al.2003). These soft soil conditions have created several complexities in the design, construction, and maintenance of structures. However, there are a variety of soil improvement techniques. Electro-osmotic consilidation is one of the techniques used to improve the soil condition.
