Abstract

The study examines the feasibility and the cost effectiveness of a hybrid energy system being implemented in the rural areas of Sarawak. The geographical properties of the landscape of Sarawak have made it hard for enery supply to be channeled into rural locality. The isolated hybrid system comprises of photovoltaic solar panels, wind turbines, biomass generators, fuel cell generators and batteries.
