Life-cycle assessment (LCA) is a tool used to find the total environmental impacts of a built-asset throughout its entire life-span from what is termed the cradle to the grave. The aim of the report is to identify LCA techniques and apply these to a range of design alternatives, and then use the information generated to aid and assist decision-making in building design teams by comparing the Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) of each potential alternative and their related component.
