Abstract

In Sarawak, there is a great lack of proper wastewater and stormwater treatments. Most of the wastewater is treated primarily via septic tank, which is a traditional on-site and low level treatment technology. The Urban Stormwater Management Manual for Malaysia is not practiced in most of the places in Sarawak. To provide a possible solution, one of the most promosing technologies for application is the engineered wetland due to the sustainability, simple construction, simple operation and maintenance, cost effectiveness, etc.
