With global warming and energy crisis becoming the top issue around the world, turning off electrical appliances when not in use are critical for energy saving. This project adopt the idea of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)"earth hour" objective by creating an artificial intelligent lighting system which will automatically switch on and off according to occupancy. This system detects occupancy by using door sensors to count the amount of user enter or exit the room. By this way the energy consumption will be reduce significantly. The system further reduces energy wastage by controlling the light intensity of the luminaries to maintain the room brightness at the desired stage.
