Microfacies analysis is important in order to further characterize the carbonates in terms of its palaeo environment, diagenetic history, heterogeneity of carbonates, and hydrocarbon potential. Subis limestone, a member of Tanggap formation, lies in the Suai area and forms Gunung Subis. The Subis limestone (lower miocene) stands up about 394 m high. Six facies were identified which were carbonate turbidite limestone facies, micrite limestone facies were identified which were carbonate turbidite limestone facies, cream/white limestone facies, fossiliferous limestone facies and chalky limestone facies.
