Abstract

This report represents a conceptual generalization of approaches to mathematical modelling of transfer processes that occur in flow through porous media and packed beds. Three physically different models for the ranges of low, high and moderate Reynolds numbers are discussed. It is shown, that the Hele-Shaw cell can be used used to model heat and mass transfer in porous media at low filtration velocities; for high Reynolds numbers the main contribution to transfer characteristics is due to fromation of vortexes, what makes possible to use the analogy with turbulent separated flow.
