Abstract

The purpose of this project is to create a simple model of Ultra Wideband (UWB) transceiver. Simple transmitter baseband processing model and receiver baseband processing model are designed according to their requirements. These models are created in Matlab/Simulink to investigate various components that are required for transmitting and receiving signal in a UWB system. The transmitter baseband processing model will modulate the generated binary input and transmit to the receiver baseband processing model through a simple AWBN channel. The receiver model will process the signal to acquire the original input. A quadrature modulator model is also created to generate a basic OFDM signal from the transmitter model to ensure the UWB requirements. The performance of the UWB system in terms of bit error rate (BER) is evaluated.
