Abstract

In this work, the stress distribution on titanium work piece during high-speed end milling was analyzed using finite element method. Cemented Carbide Grades K has been choosen as the cutting tool material. Stresses during metal cutting processes are generated at the primary shear zone, secondary shear zone and work piece-tool interface zone. The location of stress generated zones is identified in stress simulation results.
