Computational modelling of a single component gas-solid fluidized bed
In the present work, a computational study of the hydrodynamics of the single component gas-solid 3 dimensional fluidised bed was being carried out. The fluidised bed studied was half-cylinder shape model with a v-valve and rise being removed from the solid. The Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations works were performed by using the ANSYS - Workbench 14.0 - Fluent software. The advantage of utilising the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software was that the corresponding cases for industrial applications can be simulated by using the same model where a good insight on the source code of the CFD and the solving algorithms is not required.
