This project gives detailed information regarding the design of the bit-error-rate (BER) counter with certain specifications such as the option of determining the length the bit length, length of PN sequence and the duration of the transmitted pattern delay. Apart from that, an error generator is included in this design to model the real, practical environment of the typical communication system. In this project, the BER counter design displays its output using the seven-segment LEDS. The BER counter design has been tested and verified with the hepl of the Altera software tools. The BER counter is a stepping stone to the research work done in the Curtin Communication laboratory and can be further developed by future students for learning enhancement purposes.
