Parabolic trough collector (PTC) is a special kind of heat exchanger that is able to transfer solar radiation energy to fluid medium that flow thorugh it. However, designing a parabolic trough collector involve large number of calculations for parameter and require to refer to several handbooks and database. Thus, simulation software is required to act as design support system in order to reduce cost and time. Although several simulation software are available in the market, however most of them are expensive. The main objective of this final year project is to develop in house design simulation software for parabolic trough collector.
