In order to predict the changes of flow and heat transfer by mixed convection in a horizontal duct, independent CFD simulations have been performed for various conditions or parameters. Two-dimensional potential flow and its effect on heat transfer rates have been investigated since seven decades ago. These efforts were done in computational, experimental and numerical approaches.
