Title
Mechanical properties studies of aluminium metal matrix composite in aircraft structures
The aerospace industry is rapidly growing with expected annual users to exceed 2.75 billion in 2011, thus, creating awareness on issues concerning rising fuel cost and aircraft safety. To compensate, the rise of fuel cost is indirectly channeled to consumers in terms of airfares. Hence, to reduce fuel lost due to heavy aircraft structures, various researches has been conducted to develop new, lighter and stronger materials that can be used to replace conventional aircraft structures materials such as aluminium alloy.
