Abstract

This thesis represent the design and implementation of a single-phase controlled rectifier. Basically, the design of this project is divided into two major components, which is a simulation part and hardware implementation part. In simulation manner, design method implemented will consists of thyristor as rectifying component, with step-up converter at dc side and feedback controller to act as a current shaping circuit. Design is implemented by simulation on Power Simulator (PSIM). A complete design from here will be used as reference to implement this design into hardware. Implementation of hardware will be approache by means of an alternative method. In hardware manner, series regulator LM723 will be applied to provide regulating output voltage. From here, results generated from both simulation and hardware will be compare to observe differences and similarities.
