This thesis presents a project study on the current challenges in HV switching and identified the key risk factors with recommendations to enhance the safety of HV switching practices in the electric utility, namely Syarikat SESCO Berhad of the state of Sarawak, Malaysia. The methodology used in this study involved an extensive research on the company records, accident analysis, feild inspection, interviewing of switching personnel; and risk assessment survey on HV switching practices.
