We are seeking to appoint a teaching and research focus Lecturer to join the Faculty of Humanities and Health Sciences on a contract basis.
The role holder will be involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision and will be expected to make a significant contribution to research.
Your new role
· Deliver high quality teaching and assessment with a commitment to ongoing reflective improvement in teaching.
Able to teach the following units (i.e. digital content creation, professional writing and analytical units):
Ø NETS2000 Web Media
Ø NETS1000 Digital Culture and Everyday Life
Ø NETS2001 Writing on Web
Ø NETS3010 Online Games, Play and Gamification
Ø NETS1000 Web Communications
Ø COMS3001 Media and Communications Capstone (Final-year student projects)
· Supervise undergraduate and post graduate students’ research projects/studies.
· Conduct high quality research, attract competitive grants and maintain an active record of publications.
· Contribute significantly to academic service, collegiality and engagement and external community engagement activities relevant to the discipline/profession.
About You
· A PhD in a relevant discipline related to Digital Media/ Communication/ Media/ Internet Studies.
· Teaching experience at tertiary level and familiar with online teaching tools.
· Demonstrated high teaching skills and a reflective approach to teaching delivery, with an emerging record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.
· A strong understanding of pedagogical and contemporary educational practise relevant to the discipline.
· Industrial experience and significant involvement with industry or professional groups is highly regarded.
· A high level of English verbal and written communication.
· Ability to supervise postgraduate (Masters by research and PhD) students.
· Ability to develop proposals for research funding, design research projects, lead and develop a research team.
· An established record of research output and personal achievements with recent refereed publications in media and communication studies.
· Demonstrated evidence of establishing and maintaining effective collaboration and reciprocal relationship with local, national or international activities in industry, community, organisations or government.
