Position Details
Professional, Full Time (Contract)
Location: Miri, Sarawak
This position is responsible to support the external engagement of government/corporate sponsorship and partnership segment of Curtin Malaysia.
The incumbent will assist, assess, identify and develop opportunities, including the implementation of long term and annual plans for student recruitment in alignment with goals and targets set at Curtin Malaysia. The incumbent will also assist the team target through government/corporate entities, and other feeder channels assigned and achieving team sales targets by driving the team sales pipeline (Lead, Contact, Appointment, Visit, Application and Enrolment).
Main responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain positive relationship with Government and Corporate personnel.
- Manage government and corporate segment enquiries, ensure all emails, calls/walk-ins are responded promptly and in a professional manner to increase student’s enrolment.
- Implement the recruitment plan and strategies and budget in the segment assigned.
- Provide information for the purpose of enrolment to prospects and their parents on the programmes offerred by the university and to achieve set targets in student enrolment.
- Organise promotional events in accordance with the allocated budget, attend fairs, receptions, seminars, etc., to promote Curtin's programmes and recruit potential students.
- Assist to gather market intelligence, such as trends in applications and popular courses in the market.
- Prepare post event reports for every event participated/conducted.
Essential Criteria:
- A degree in Business Administration/Marketing or in a relevant field from a recognised institution.
- At least three years of work experience in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills (including presentation skills and ability to produce written reports that clear and accurate) with a wide variety of people and with cross-cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrated a high level of motivation to work with people, able to deal with customer enquiries in an effective and positive manner.
- Demonstrated the ability to prioritise workload, complete a variety of marketing related activities to meet deadlines and follow up actions with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated effective planning skills, including implementing external engagement plan, recruitment plan, setting and monitoring recruitment budget.
- Demonstrated good negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.
- Willing to travel extensively and work on flexible schedules and working hours.
Desirable:
- Possess good networking with government agencies, corporate bodies, embassies etc., both domestically and internationally.
- Work experience in an engagement and business development is highly preferred.
