Position Details
Professional, Full Time (Contract)
Location: Miri, Sarawak
We are in search of an experienced, highly creative and enthusiastic public relations and marketing communications professional to join our team. The candidate we seek must have a progressive outlook on how to best use traditional, digital, new media solutions to build our brand and reputation, and integrated marketing campaigns.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, conceptualise and execute communications campaigns, internal and external communications, and creative PR events.
- Work with marketing team to interpret consumer trends, audience and data insights and translate them into meaningful marketing communications insights for effective PR initiatives and marketing campaigns.
- Manage relationship with media and relevant agencies and other stakeholders.
- Write, distribute, and collate communication materials for marketing collaterals, press releases, speeches, media replies, and internal communications.
- Source and manage media opportunities, sponsorships and influencers relationships, and community outreach projects.
- Monitor media achievement across multiple platforms.
- Coordinate corporate events and provide relevant support services to events organised by other areas of the university.
- Facilitate expert comment from academics and experts within the university when requested by media.
- Conduct campus tours.
- Photography and videography coverage of events.
Selection Criteria:
- Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Studies or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar capacity.
- Good working knowledge of marketing and branding, including in digital spaces.
- Knowledge and experience in social paid marketing and social media engagement preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of graphic design, web design, image and video editing software would be an advantage.
- Experience in using photography and videography equipment would be an advantage, including staging photo and video shoots.
- Strong inter-personal and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated effective written skills.
- Good critical thinking and decision-making skills, time management and organisational skills.
- Exhibit a collaborative demeanour as you will work closely with our internal and global marketing teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proactive and have the ability to manage multiple projects with high standards and challenging deadlines.
- Good command of the English language, both spoken and written. Proficiency in Bahasa Melayu and local languages would also be advantageous.
- Experience in organising small to medium scale events.
