Position Details

Location: Miri Sarawak.
Curtin is undergoing a transformation to become a global university offering unique student experience enabled by its network of campuses, alliances and partnerships across the world. As part of this global transformation, Curtin is harnessing the resources and knowledge across the university to create a seamless journey for students to move online and the global campuses. It is therefore vital to establish appropriate operational support for global growth. The objective of a global admissions team is in line with Curtin’s global strategy in pursuit of a cohesive approach.
Your new role
The purpose of this position is to work collaboratively with external partners for the efficient and effective management of enquiries for Global Admissions by ensuring that the information used by any external partners is up-to-date and accurate in line with the University course offerings.
The incumbent will also be required to respond to non-standard emails and telephone enquiries that are referred back to Curtin from external partners as well as the management of walk-in prospective international students.
Your key responsibilities:
Product Knowledge
- As requested by Team Leader, share with external partner’s up-to-date course information for all Curtin courses, entry pathways and University admissions qualifications, application procedures and international student country specific visa requirements.
- As requested by Team Leader, share with external partners and maintain up to date information on campus lifestyle and support services for international students.
Recruitment
- Promote Curtin campus lifestyle and courses to walk-in international students and their parents that are seeking information on Curtin and its courses.
- Promote Curtin’s profile via face-to-face, phone and online/email interface, especially in countries where Curtin is not represented by an agent network.
- Where necessary and as directed by the Team Leader, assist with the follow-up and converting applications, particularly in countries where Curtin is not represented by an agent network.
- Support and assist the Regional Recruitment Managers to conduct local marketing and recruitment activities.
- Participate in education exhibitions and interview programs as required.
Client Relationship / Case Management
- Provide accurate, professional, prompt and friendly customer services verbally and in writing to prospective international students, their parents and University staff.
- Case manage non-standard individual prospective international student’s enquiries that are referred to Curtin by external partners for a response.
- As required analyse and report monthly to the Team Leader and other management on the walk-in and non-standard International prospectus student enquiries.
- Undertake product training on enquiry management for external partners.
Other Duties
- Assist as requested in recruitment administration as directed by the Team Leader.
- Undertake other duties associated with international student recruitment that the incumbent might reasonably expected to perform and which are consistent with the position’s specific accountabilities and responsibilities.
Essential Criteria:
Qualification
• A degree qualification and significant experience in a related area.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- Proven ability to present information and documents in an accurate, clear and concise manner to groups and/or individuals.
- Proven ability to adapt in changing demands and conditions to maintain a high-level servce.
- Proven ability in effective verbal and written communications skills and application of these skills in a customer service and cross cultural environment.
- Proven ability to organise and prioritise work according to customer needs and work deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
Desirable Criteria:
- Demonstrated work experience in a tertiary education environment, especially in international student recruitment.
- Demonstrated conversational fluency in languages other than English.
- Demonstrated competency with using Customer Relationship Management software
- Demonstrated competency with using Customer Relationship Management software
