Location: Miri Sarawak
We are looking to hire a detail-oriented Technician to provide support and work with a team of in-house Technicians on Mechanical and Electrical systems.
The Technicians’ primary role is to ensure that these systems operate efficiently and safely, often performing scheduled maintenance and responding to emergency calls due to breakdown in the campus.
To be successful in this role, customer satisfaction, safety and comfort should be your top priority. The ideal candidate will be patient with excellent organisational and troubleshooting skills.
Your new role
This position is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems within buildings or infrastructure. This mainly includes:
- Assisting Chargeman/Senior Electrician in electrical works such as troubleshooting, wiring installation works, corrective maintenance, routine preventive maintenance of electrical related equipment;
- Mechanical system such as sewerage treatment pumping system, cold water plumbing and pumps, fire-fighting fire alarm and pumping system;
- Minor knowledge in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems;
- Other M&E related preventive and corrective maintenance works.
About You
- Minimum SPMV/Certificate or Diploma in Electrical and Mechanical or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum two (2) years hands on technical experience in a related field.
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, fire alarms, security systems, pump system (for sprinkler, hose reel, sewerage treatment plant, reservoir, jockey pump, etc.).
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with mechanical and electrical equipment and systems. Ability to prepare corrective maintenance report and propose solution and specification for M&E related issues.
- Proficiency in maintaining, repairing and servicing mechanical and electrical systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. Carry out preventive maintenance according to maintenance schedule. Hands-on experience in repairing M&E equipment and system is compulsory.
- Ability to perform detailed inspections, follow technical drawings and specifications and ensure accuracy in maintenance and repair tasks.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to mechanical and electrical systems to maintain a safe working environment.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with team members, engineers and clients, and to accurately report on maintenance activities and findings.
- Skill in managing workload, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines, especially when responding to emergency repair calls.
