Position Details
Professional, Full Time (Contract)
Location: Miri, Sarawak
Salary range: RM32,000.00 - RM48,000.00 per annum
Reporting to the Dean of Research and Development, this position will support the Office of Research and Development with analysing, interpreting and presenting data to others to fulfil and enhance the University’s MyRA ratings and any other special duties which may be assigned within the parameters of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a filing system for annual MyRA data compilations.
- Liaise with all MyRA data custodians in order to compile and achieved targeted score.
- Attend MyRA briefings or trainings as required by Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE).
- Develop full understanding on latest MyRA Glossary whenever a new version is released.
- Maintain and update the webpage of Office of Research and Development.
- Assist to compile research output data and evidences for SETARA Rating.
- Assist in the maintenance of Research databases (Repository, Grants, publications, citations).
- Identify grant opportunities and maintain a grant database based on Curtin Malaysia’s faculties and research capabilities.
- Regularly, update the citations of Curtin Malaysia Publications and compile the data base.
- Support the delivery of the publication statistic reports to Academic Board, Research Committee, CU & CM Scorecard and MQA Audit.
- Drafts, analyse and tabulate data statistics on research publication as required for meeting reports.
- Assist to compile raw data for MOSTI’s MASTIC submission.
- Assist to prepare publication data of Research Output Reports requested by academics in Academic Promotion Round.
- Assist to verify and calculate publication section in yearly Strategic Research Incentive Scheme (SRI).
- Read and respond to external and internal emails and/or disseminate as appropriate.
- Creates clear, articulate correspondences on behalf of Office of Research and Development on MyRA-related matters.
- Obtains necessary information from appropriate source(s) to complete assigned tasks.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum, a bachelor degree from a recognised institution.
- Knowledge of the research environment in higher education and an understanding of the principles of research data management.
- Advocacy skills and ability to encourage researchers to engage with research data management.
- Knowledge in searching and retrieving information from the internet, online databases and paper-based sources.
- High level of numeracy and proven ability to manipulate figures and data using spreadsheets and databases.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision and within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines consistently, with strong attention to details.
- Proven analytical with a pro-active and innovative approach to problem solving.
- Possess a friendly disposition and has the flexibility to adapt to changes to organisational requirements.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with staff at all levels with good command of both written and spoken English.
- High level of competency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability in maintaining websites and publishing research updates (visualisations and performance chart) periodically.
Desirable
- At least two (2) years of working experience in a similar capacity.
