Role Overview
As a Teaching Fellow in Psychological Science, you will contribute primarily to high‑quality undergraduate teaching, with a strong focus on psychological research methods, statistics, and applied data analysis. The role supports students in developing robust quantitative and mixed‑methods research skills across core areas of psychology, including clinical, cognitive, developmental, social, and health psychology.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Supervision

• Deliver, coordinate, and assess undergraduate teaching in Psychological Science, particularly research methods and statistics.
• Teach lectures and tutorials; design, administer, and mark assessments; provide timely and constructive feedback.
• Support students in research design, data analysis, and interpretation.
• Provide academic advising and student support.
• Engage in teaching‑related professional development.
• Contribute to a collegial, inclusive, and high‑quality teaching environment.

Service & Engagement

• Contribute to academic service at department and faculty levels.
• Demonstrate collegiality and effective teamwork.
• Build and maintain effective engagement with industry, professional bodies, the wider community or government partners.

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology, Psychological Science, Health Psychology, or a closely related discipline.
• PhD in Psychology or related discipline (desirable).
• Registration or eligibility for registration as a Clinical Psychologist (desirable).
• Experience teaching psychology, health psychology, and clinical psychology units.

Skills & Competencies

• Demonstrated expertise in teaching psychological research methods (experimental, correlational, mixed‑methods).
• Proficiency in statistical software (e.g. SPSS or equivalent).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to support diverse student cohorts and work collaboratively.
