Your new role
We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow to join the Department of Health Science on a contract basis. The role holder will be involved in undergraduate teaching and supervision and will be expected to make a significant contribution to engagement.
Your key responsibilities
- As a Teaching Fellow, you will contribute primarily to high-quality teaching and learning in undergraduate programs in Psychological Science. The role focuses on psychological research methods, statistics, and applied data analysis across core areas of psychology, including clinical, cognitive, developmental, social, and health psychology. You will support students to develop strong quantitative and mixed-methods research skills essential for scientific inquiry and professional pathways in psychology.
- You will be responsible for the delivery, coordination, and assessment of teaching within the Psychological Sciences discipline, with a focus on research methods and statistics. This includes delivering lectures and tutorials; designing, administering, and marking assessments; and providing timely, constructive feedback to support student learning.
- Additional responsibilities include supporting students in research design, data analysis, and interpretation; providing academic advising; engaging in teaching-related professional development; and contributing to a collegial, supportive, and high-quality teaching environment.
About You
- A Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Psychology, Psychological Science, Health Psychology, or a closely related discipline.
- A PhD in Psychology or a related discipline is an advantage.
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a Clinical Psychologist is desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching psychological research methods, including experimental, correlational, and mixed-methods approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to teach psychology units, health psychology, and clinical psychology.
- Demonstrated experience using and teaching statistical software (e.g. SPSS or equivalent).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support diverse student cohorts.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining effective collaboration and reciprocal relationship with local, national or international activities in industry, community, organisations or government.
