Your new role
This position exists to meet Curtin Malaysia’s strategic objective of meeting and further developing the campus benchmarked standards on making available appropriate and adequate student support services, such as physical, social, financial, recreational facilities, and counselling, health education and medical services.
The position aims to provide the campus community with medical, health and well-being services. The position will be responsible for organising and managing the Health Centre and making available medical emergency services on campus through collaboration with the Voluntary Student Aid Detachment Unit (VAD). In addition to medical services, the position will include the responsibility of collaborating with other Officers within the department in developing medical and well-being programs and campaigns on Campus.
The development of medical and well-being programs and campaigns is to be planned in consultation or collaboration with other relevant departments and schools in order to minimise duplication and maximise the relevance and timeliness of events/activities.
Activities organised are to appeal to a wide spectrum of students and staff and can include community service, which will lead towards the objective of integrating students from various schools and creating esprit-de-corps among students, staff and the wider Miri community.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Medical Assistant or equivalent.
- Valid and up-to-date registration and licensed with the Lembaga Persatuan Pembantu Perubatan Malaysia or equivalent.
- Able to conduct emergency medical treatment, have diagnostic knowledge, manage and filter clinical cases, and perform front-line medical care.
- Required language: English
- At least 5 years of working experience in the related field.
- Preferably Junior Executives specialising in Healthcare - Medical Support & Assistant or equivalent.
- Pleasant Personality.
- Good public relations and communication skills.
- Demonstrated organisational skills, particularly in terms of organising people and programs.
- Ability to think creatively and provide solutions.
- Commitment to continuous improvement in the workplace.
- Good computer skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
